Universal Health Care Establishment Reform

Terminology Involved with Health Care Reveals the Truth

Dan Abshear
The United States is in fact in a health care crisis. A crisis is an ustable condition, and few would argue that the health care situation in the United States is presently stable. Yet everyone refers to this crisis as one of our health care system. My belief is that it is more appropriate to refer to our public health as a health care establishment. An establishment is those holding the most power in a sociey and it's structures. The ruling class elite. A system contains the elements of ideas to form such an establishment. So the establishment is composed of those that form the thoughts and concepts to form the opinion of how the health care shoud be whith thier establishment and how it should be implemented. So, one could posit, the establishment is who is opposed to universal health care, along with it's advocates.

Let's examine health care for a moment: Health is basicially one's condition as they are when disease is absent and physical and mental wellness are present. This is what we, as a society, should strive for with our citizens. The restoration of health, if need be, is desired by most.

Care, by definition, is a bit more challenging, as it requires us to have greater responsibility with greater attention to assure the well-being of others. The requirement is accepted and activated because of our concern and interest to provide the need and assistance others require to restore their health. So, because we have this establishment that exists due to the system that has evolved to manage health care, the crisis is present and has been for too long of a time. By the way, in no examination of health care is there the word profit, or gain, by others. The motives have already been stated related to health care.

Those opposed to Universal Health care argue that there will be increased wait times. A weak argument. This already exists, and I don't see how it could possibly be worse with a Universal model. Also, those opposed to the Universal paradigm consider health care not a right of citizens of the United States. This is sad, because a right is morally proper and fitting to fufill the humane treatment of others. Other countries seem to agree with this. So those opposed to a Unvesal method believe citizens are not entitled to these rights. In other words, there are those who do not wish to provide such rights.

I am not one of them.

Have spent my working life in various aspects of the health care system for decades. Was a medic in the military in the past. And I'm a health care advocate and legal consultant as well, which I enjoy.  View profile
