University of Georgia's Trey Thompkins Top 5 Performances for the 2010-11 Season

As an University of Georgia basketball fan, I believe that Trey Thompkins has the skills to be a solid NBA player and his offensive skillset reminds me of Carmelo Anthony.

Thompkins has great ability, but sometimes conditioning has been a factor and it may be affecting his draft status. Carmelo Anthony had those same issues early in his career, but was able to get through it and re-dedicate himself to the weight room.

Thompkins' above average offensive skillset won't do him any good if he can't stay in shape and it begins with him. He is a young man who has come out early to submit his name to the NBA Draft, but the window of opportunity is very slim regardless of where he is drafted.

Thompkins must make a good first impression at the draft combines and for the team that eventually signs him to a contract.

Coaches know he has the skillset, but physical discipline and a desire to get better are also required when one gets to the NBA level as well.

The following is the Trey Thompkins' Top 5 performances at the University of Georgia d\for the 2010-11 season:

1. Thompkins scores 21 in win over Georgia Tech: (December 7th)Trey Thompkins provided the inside and outside presence needed in a critical win over state rival, Georgia tech. Dustan Ware's seven threes definitely had an impact on on the game, but Thompkins made several key baskets down the stretch as Georgia continues to dominate the rivalry over Georgia Tech.

2. Thompkins records double-double, but Florida rallies to win: (January 25th) Thompkins scored 20 points and pulled down 13 rebounds, but it wasn't enough as Florida makes a late rally in a hard fought win at Athens.

3. Thompkins lead Bulldogs in win over South Carolina: (February 25th) Trey Thompkins scored 20 points, as Georgia's defense was stifling in a 64-48 win against South Carolina.

4. Thompkins helps Georgia in win over Auburn: (March 10th) Thompkins scores 22 points to lead the Bulldogs in a opening round win at the SEC tournament. The win helped to secure a NCAA berth because heading into the tournament, Georgia had been on the bubble.

5. Thompkins five steals keys defensive effort in win over Tennessee (February 19th) Thompkins didn't have a great shooting night going 4-for14 in a 11 point effort, but his five steals and nine rebounds helped the Bulldogs pull off a road win at Tennessee.
