University Medical's AcneFree Severe Kit: Better Than Proactiv!

As someone who has struggled with moderate acne for the last ten years, I have tried dozens of products to make a difference in my skin. From Proactiv to Clean n Clear, nothing has yielded the results I was hoping for. I have also previously tried University Medical's AcneFree Clear Skin System, but the AcneFree Severe Kit is the clear winner.

The AcneFree Severe Kit has four components: Antibacterial Cleansing Wash, Corrective Toner, Maximum Strength Repair Lotion and Retinol Renewal Complex. The cleansing wash thoroughly flushes away bacteria and the toner neutralizes skin to make it healthy again. Perhaps the most effective part of the system is the Repair Lotion, which has 10% Benzoyl Peroxide, which is continuously released to fight acne all day long. The Retinol is a night formula that opens your pores and allows your skin to breathe and also attacks acne at its source so you wake up with smoother skin.

In the morning, the directions say to wash your face with the cleanser and then apply the toner. It is very important to use a fresh cotton ball for the toner. Do NOT reuse cotton balls. Extra caution must be made to avoid the eye area. The most important thing to keep in mind is to wait ten minutes between the toner and the Repair Lotion, to provide adequate time for the toner to soak into pores. This may seem time consuming, but I simply brush my teeth and get dressed in between.

In the evening, the face wash and toner are both used, except the Repair Lotion is replaced by the Retinol Renewal Complex. The Retinol should never be used in conjunction with the Repair Lotion, only as a replacement.

As a whole, the system works best if the directions are followed exactly and every product in the system is used. The Repair Lotion is excellent for making skin feel smooth and soft, and the Retinol is fantastic at making an obvious difference in pimples overnight by reducing redness and size. Since there is 10% Benzoyl Peroxide, there is a tendency for the skin to be dry over the first few days, but it improves. A dab on each cheek, the forehead, nose and chin is enough for the Repair Lotion. Any more and there is a risk of irritation.

While Proactiv did yield some results, it was not as noticeable, cost efficient or readily available as AcneFree
Severe to Clear System. AcneFree is only about $25 for the whole kit and is available at large chains such as Walgreens and Wal-Mart. AcneFree's strong 10% time-released Benzoyl Peroxide is much stronger than Proactiv and is the only system to continuously work 24 hours a day at improving your skin. After 3-4 days of use, I noticed my skin was noticeably smoother and some large, painful zits deep under the skin on my forehead disappeared before they even came to the surface. Redness was also greatly reduced, as well as the size of my pores, which have been a major problem in my T-zone. In addition, the blackheads on my nose seemed to be much less dark, suggesting much of the dirt was stripped out. They seemed to be much closer to the surface, which made for successful squeezing and removal.

I highly suggest this product. The Severe kit is much stronger and works wonders for even moderate acne, which is what I have. After a few months of using this product, I can honestly say I no longer need to wear foundation or concealer to hide unsightly zits or large pores. This product is economical, extremely effective, and it really does work.
