University of Montana: Attend a Rhodes Scholar Haven

A.L.C.
The University of Montana is located in Missoula, one of the most beautiful cities in western Montana. It is not only a place of breathtaking beauty; it is a school of high quality and thus far has produced twenty-eight Rhodes Scholars. This places the U of M in fifth place in the U.S. among public universities for this stellar achievement. Many people would be surprised by this accomplishment, but not the denizens of Missoula. The citizenry hold this school near and dear. They follow academics as strongly as they follow the football team. The University of Montana is a secret gold nugget in a state full of the legends of copper and cattle.

U of M is surrounded by mountainous terrain and rolling pastures. The city is full of book stores, coffee clatches, and music filled clubs. There are live theatres, eclectic eateries and many meeting venues. There are many quality apartment houses and houses for rent that many college-bound students Will find much more than adequate. There is a great feeling of acceptance in this city. and there are other reasons this city can puff up its chest with pride. Missoula has a hospital that ranks as one of the top institutions for heart surgery in the country. And the University of Montana Grizzly football team has won a national championship and been in the top five in its division for many years. In other words the U of M is set in the middle of a city full of culture and tradition along with great strides toward future accomplishments.

U of M was founded in 1893 and now consists of five schools and four colleges offering degrees in law, business, education, journalism, forestry and conservation, arts and sciences, health professions and biomedical sciences, and technology. Eight past graduates of the school of journalism have won the Pulitzer Prize. This institution of higher learning draws students not only from all over the U. S. but from all around the world as well.

Yellowstone National Park is nearby as is Glacier National Park. Canada is just a hop-skip-and-a jump away within easy driving distance. Camping, hunting, fishing and hiking are some of the perks available in this area. Skiing in the winter is marvelous and biking in the summer perfect. There are many interesting nearby ghost towns to visit also. And even though the people of Missoula are loath to let outsiders discover this amazing school they are extremely helpful to newcomers. They will most assuredly point out places of interest to those unfamiliar with the grandness of Big Sky Country.

The setting is magnificent, the curriculum outstanding, and the cultural diversity exciting. The University of Montana is a school that seems to offer the complete package. The cost of tuition is very manageable. Some even say the views are worth the price of tuition. The reputation of the school is second-to-none. It offers the chance of a quality education as well as the chance to experience life in one of the most beautiful cities in the Rocky Mountains.

The University of Montana is one fantastic place to go to school. The school can be visited online at www.umt.edu.
