A University of Wyoming student athlete was killed and three injured Monday when the vehicle they were in went off Highway 287 in Colorado early Monday morning.

Nineteen year old Ruben Narcisse died due to his injuries in the accident. Trey Fox, and J.J. Quinlan, both 19 and C.J. Morgan, 18 were injured. All are members of the University of Wyoming football team.

"We're reaching out to our entire team and coaching staff," Wyoming head coach Dave Christensen said. "It's a terrible tragedy, and a terrible loss. Our focus now is helping our team and staff deal with this tragedy and making sure the families of the young men involved know that we are here to support them in any way we can."

The players were in a pickup approximately six miles south of the Wyoming state. Colorado State Patrol officials believe that the driver, who they believe was Fox, fell asleep at the wheel and drifted off the highway. Officials also say that there is no evidence of drugs or alcohol in the crash.

Quinlan and Fox were taken to the hospital and were treated and released. Morgan remains in the hospital in fair condition.
