Unknown Actress Replaced by Hollywood Starlet in Twilight Series
Learn How You Can Help Rachelle Lefevre Get Her Job Back
Rachelle Marie Lefevre was born on February 1st, 1979 in Montreal, Quebec, Canada to an psychologist and an English Teacher. Art and theater was always in her heart with her decisions to study creative art at Dawson College and theater at Walnut Hill School in Massachusetts. Now Rachelle didn't get her big break until she was discovered by one of her customers at the sushi bar she worked at. The customer helped her get an audition for a part on a television show called Student Bodies. Even though Rachelle didn't get the part, she was offer a role on another television show called Big Wolf on Campus. While filming the show, she got a degree from McGill college in education and literature.
Now armed with a degree and a resume, Rachelle further her career in Hollywood with small roles in B movies and guest appearances on popular cable shows. With natural striking looks and fire red hair, her longevity in the entertainment business is a give in. But her natural raw talent is the icing on the cake. But with only minor and forgettable roles in movies and television shows, her talent went unnoticed for years. Her big break came in the form of a movie called Twilight. Even though her role in the movie was small, her talent was seen by millions and millions of people. Playing the role of Victoria gave Rachelle Lefevre star status. Now she wasn't just another unknown actress playing in B movies or one hit wonder television shows. She was part of the equation that made Twilight such an success. But her moment of success and fortunate was brought down because of one main reason: she was expendable.
Summit Entertainment claimed that the reason for Rachelle Lefevre dismissal from the Twilight Saga was that there was a scheduling conflict with Rachelle's indie movie Barney's Version. Rachelle said she was fully committed to the Twilight Saga which is why she chose a small role in the movie Barney's Version. Summit tried to give excuses saying that the indie movie would require Rachelle to go overseas to Europe but the truth is this. Everybody in Hollywood is dying to have a part in the Twilight Saga. And bigger names brings in more money in the box office. Rachelle Lefevre was unfortunately a casualty. If Robert Pattinson or Kristen Stewart had a scheduling conflict that interfere with the Twilight movies, I think that the studio would accommodate them instead of axing them the first chance they got.
Its sad to see this happen to such an talented actress. But now these days the entertainment business is less about making art and more about making money. The passion of movie making is gone. When someone walks into a movie theater, they expect to be taken away their everyday boring lives and experience something magical. That is what happen when I first saw the movie Twilight. Everything from Edward Cullen's body glimmering in the sunshine to Bella arriving to her new school to the Cullen family making dinner for Bella made me forget about all my problems and my troubles because I was completely and utterly absorb in the beauty of the film. The most magical part for me was at the end when Edward and Bella was slow dancing to the song Flightless Bird, America Mouth with Victoria watching them. As she stood above them watching their love glow for each other, I could see all the levers and screws in her head turning as she scheme for her revenge.
I think replacing Rachelle is a very bad move because the fans of Twilight will have to imagine the character of Victoria in Bryce Dallas Howard. Bryce Dallas Howard is an wonderful and very talented actress but Rachelle Lefevre is Victoria. She brought something to the character of Victoria and brought her to life in the few minutes she had on the screen. Rachelle's fans were anxiously waiting for Eclipse to see even more of her but that moment may not come now that she has been replaced. But there's a small chance that her fans can show the studio that Rachelle Lefevre needs to be recast as Victoria. Go to http://www.petitiononline.com/rach3cli/petition.html to sign a petition to bring back Rachelle Lefevre to the Twilight franchise. Fans can also call Summit Entertainment at 310-309-8400 and write to them at this address: 1630 Stewart St. Ste. 120 Santa Monica, CA 90404 USA.
