Unlocking the meaning of Lost; an unauthorized guide by Porter, Lynnette R., 1957-

Following information is from the library of Congress catalog electronic resource gov/catdir - "Unlocking the meaning of Lost: an unauthorized guide" by Lynnette Porter, David Lavery. 2006 ISBN: 1402207263 9781402207266 Chapters: 1 The Making of Lost 2. Lost without Technology, 3 Lost in Their Lives, 4 Lost Spirituality, 5 Larger Spiritual Concepts.

Part four entitled, "Keys to Unlocking the Meaning of Lost", starts with chapter six, "Lost Ancestors" where the book discusses about previous shows and books that the Lost TV show echoes in certain ways. One example is on page 141, "O'Brien's novel, "The Third Policeman" is about a real/surreal space/time Deus Ex Machina. On page144 the "The Twilight Zone" episode of "The Time Element" is cited in respect of hallucinations of social isolation induced by prolonged use of isolation float tank.

Perhaps this is the show's political commentary on the torture techniques currently used by the US on a routine basis, in short - driving these prisoners insane and mentally maimed for life. Padilla's social isolation has made him unfit to stand trial.

Post at this site from former Gitmo guard, badazzmarv, who comments on Jun 20, 2007 that "Lost" reminded him of Gitmo.
