Everybody grab your miniguns and jump into your Scorpions, it's time to fight! In Unreal Tournament 2004, you can choose from many characters, scenarios, and battlefields. There are a variety of course - specific weapons, some unique to each battlefield. With each scenario there is a different goal, such as completely depleting the enemy power core, or simply killing the most opponents. You can also play online with other UT2004 players across the globe. You even have the option of starting your own server, equipped with your own rules, amount of players, different weapons, and so on. If you want to play without all the hassle, or you just want to practice killing some computers, you can hit the Instant Action button which will take you into battle within seconds.

Scenarios (Just a few of them) :

Capture the Flag: The goal in this scenario is to run to the enemy base and capture the enemy flag. Once captured, this flag must be returned to your base. If you die while carrying the flag, the flag is dropped and is fair game for anyone to pick up. At the same time as capturing the enemy flag, you must help your team guard your own flag.

Onslaught: The goal here is to completely drain the enemy power core. Each team has a base on opposite sides of the map, with numerous smaller bases that interconnect these two enemy bases. Before you can drain the enemy power core, you must be in control of enough bases so that they can link directly from your base to the enemy base. Vehicles may also be used in this scenario. Some such vehicles are the Scorpion, which is a jeep like vehicle equipped with lasers and sharp blades on both sides. There is also the Raptor, which is a small vehicle equipped with lock on missiles and dual laser guns. This vehicle also has the ability to fly. There are also other vehicles such as hovercrafts, tanks, and heavily equipped armored cars.

Assault: There are two rounds to this scenario. In each round, one team will take the role of the attacking team and one the defending team. The goal of the attackers is to successfully infiltrate the enemy ship/base. The goal of the defenders is, well, quite the opposite. There is also a time limit, which puts pressure on the attacking team to successfully overthrow the enemy in a short amount of time. At the end of both rounds, whichever team had a more successful attack will score a point, and x number of points wins the game.

Those are just a few of the scenarios that are available for play. Unreal Tournament is a great game for experienced FPS players (if you don't know what FPS means, you're probably not experienced) that want to go out and show everyone what they're made of. While it cannot compare to games such as the Halo games, it comes pretty darn close.
