Untangling the John Aniston, Jennifer Aniston, John Mayer and Brangelina Gordian Knot

Dishing on Jennifer Aniston and John Mayer On-again Off-again On-again Relationship

Sylvia Cochran
Jennifer Aniston's romantic life reads like a who's who; there was Adam Duritz of the Counting Crows, Tate Donovan of Nancy Drew fame, and then Jennifer Aniston wed Brad Pitt of Brangelina fame. Well, she married him before he became part of Brangelina, of course. Enter Angelina Jolie, Brad went gaga, so Jennifer filed for divorce.

Life goes on and John Mayer enters Aniston's line of sight. Paparazzi snap pictures; rumor mills work overtime, and then - the big letdown. John Mayer and Jennifer Aniston break up. Actually, Mayer dumped Aniston. Anger flared at Mayer's somewhat tepid explanation that he did not "want to waste her time."

All of us living vicariously through celebs demanded more, by golly, and we finally got it! Jennifer Aniston and John Mayer again grace the pages of the People Magazine couples section. The article mentions a dish of oysters and imaginary Groucho Marx eyebrows were wiggling in a rather meaningful manner. Still, not everyone got up their hopes.

Then there is the November 20 news flash that John Mayer met (in person!) John Aniston of Days of Our Lives fame and father to one Jennifer Aniston. Star Magazine reports that the couple had dinner with John Aniston and Jennifer's stepmother.

Citing a mysterious eyewitness -- who seems to have hidden in the terrine for all the details s/he could give about the outing - there is reasonable hope that this relationship is not only on-again, but hot and blazing.

Is the lovable actress who has won the Golden Globe Award, the Screen Actors Guild Award, the GLAAD Vanguard Award and also the Emmy finally going to get her "happily ever after?" Will Jennifer Aniston finally become disassociated from that Brangelina connection that just keeps on cropping up? Or is this the setup for heartbreak of epic proportions?

Poor Jennifer. She is really getting clobbered in the press (and I use the term loosely!) lately.

She is entitled to date people. I hear comments, like she gets around, but she has to date men to see what works. For those who claim her relationship is contrived, I wonder if you just stop to remember that she is seeking happiness and more than likely really is in a relationship that means something to her; not everything all the time is for the camera. And if they met in public, there is likely many reasons for that the least of which is about a publicity stunt. I just hope she is happy, and feel that she is being honest as she can with the crazy media centered life she lives.

Meeting the parents is a good sign. Let's hope she gets married for good this time.

Their relationship is fiction that is why they did it in a very populated hotel full of people they KNOW will talk. It is arranged by CAA. Their mutual agents as publicity.
