If space is an issue and you're just not into a lot of decorating, you can get a tabletop Charlie Brown style Christmas tree. There are several places online to get these, which are pitiful in that endearing Charlie Brown way. Target's version sells for $14.99. This Charlie Brown tree from Amazon retails for $18.99 and also comes with a blue blanket to wrap around the bottom.
Spiral trees seem to be gaining momentum this year. This pre-lit spiral tree sells for $189.00. A white spiral bubble tree starts at $289.00. Apparently there's actually a bubble system on this tree that you can set to display different colors. A red trunk bubble tree runs in the area of $369.00. Oh, technology!
Upside-down Christmas trees are also popular this season. They are available in white, like this one, which costs a hefty $439, and also green. Treetopia's green version is $349.00.
Fantasy Collection trees come in a variety of funky colors and remind me of something out of a Dr. Seuss book. They're thin with elongated trunks and slightly bent.
There are tons of other colorful and unusual trees at my favorite online tree store, Treetopia. There you can find colors from lime green to black, palm trees, topiary trees, and a Stephen J. Colbert National Treasure Tree.
Of course there are some weird trees you can't buy, like a "tree" made from stacked Grolsch beer bottles from several years ago. I'm getting a hangover just thinking about that one.
