There are so many unusual Fiji attractions that it is hard to choose which one to visit first. Fiji is a small island with gorgeous sandy beaches, palm trees, immaculate coral reefs and verdant mountains that are so breathtakingly stunning you will not want to leave the island. Fiji is one of the best travel destinations in the world. There is a wide array of culture here that anyone would enjoy. Listed below are five unusual attractions in Fiji that I recommend everyone visit.

Unusual Attractions in Fiji

The Legend behind Fire Walking

Tourist cannot leave Fiji without seeing fire walking. There is a legend behind fire walking that is rather interesting. Legend has it that a God gave power to a Bequa warrior that allowed him to walk on fire without being hurt. This was given in turn for a favor.

Delicacies of Fiji

There are some rather unusual foods in Fiji. As a tourist, I am not sure I would want to eat these particular foods but for the people of Fiji the foods are a delicacy. The delicacies are diverse roots, raw fish that is marinated in coconut cream and boiled bat.

Fiji Museum

The Fiji Museum may not be as unusual as other attractions but one item they display is a rather unusual attraction that dates back to when people thought Fijian people were cannibals. It is said that Thomas Baker was eaten and the only thing left was a shoe that is now on display in the Fiji Museum. Souvenir shops carry four-pronged forks that remind visitors of this period.

Humphead Wrasse

Other unusual Fiji attractions are the humphead wrasse the largest reef fish in the world. Their population is steadily declining and for that reason, they are not fished commercially. Their scales have been used to paddle boats and are known as varicose.

No Shoes Required

If you like to walk without shoes you will love Fiji even more. Walking without shoes is acceptable everywhere even in the airport. It is fun to walk without shoes and it is nice to know there is a place that respect people who like to walk around barefooted.

All of the unusual attractions in Fiji listed within this article are free to visit. Your family will have an enjoyable time with each unusual attraction.
