Unusual Christmas Gifts for Outer Space Enthusiasts and UFO Fans

The Gift is Out There

Chris M. Carmichael
Friends and family of space fans don't have to limit Christmas gifts to the usual NASA T-shirts and Star Trek pins. There are many other interesting and unusual gifts for space enthusiasts, alien lovers, and UFO fans. Here I will discuss some unusual Christmas gifts for space fans-- I will begin with one of the most unusual gifts. Towards the end of the article I include a few, more conventional, UFO and outer space gifts. These final gifts, though not unusual gifts, have been included simply because they are interesting.

The Unusual Christmas Gifts:

Send a message through space in honor of your loved one.

According to this website, for approximately 20 British pounds, you can send a message into space. Your short message (a total of 128 characters long) will be encoded for transmission and sent via laser beam from a station in North America. My Bigger Picture will send a confirmation certificate letting you know when your message was sent. Those of us in the U.S. will pay a lot extra for shipping (of the certificate). Expect to pay the dollar equivalent of another 15 pound sterling for shipping ( the certificate comes in a special gift box). You will probably need to order soon if you want to make sure the gift arrives by Christmas.

Go to UFO to Go and buy alien I.D.

For only a few dollars you can purchase a UFO drivers license at UFO to Go. UFO to Go offers several different kinds of I.D. One license is for Organ Harvesters, the other is for Mind Invaders--or choose a Mothership docking permit. Tip: If you buy one of their cool alien T-shirts, you get two free IDs--the Mothership docking permit and the alien Mind Invader UFO drivers license. Customized I.D. cards are also available for a few more dollars. These are for alien Abductors and include the name and other information about the gift recipient. They also have UFO flashlight key chains, glow in the dark alien putty heads, and other alien items. Their gifts are fun and their prices are very reasonable.

Buy them Space Coffee for Christmas.

For those long voyages in space, we all need something to keep us awake. Thank goodness for space coffee. The site, Flying Saucers sells four blends of gourmet coffee. Each blend comes in collectible spaceship packaging. A mug with the words "I was abducted by Flying Saucers" is also available. Flying Saucer space coffee and the mug would be great, and amusing, Christmas gifts for UFO and alien fans

Protect your loved ones. Buy a dog tag from Earthbound dog.

If your loved ones are abducted by aliens this Christmas, make sure they arrive back on earth safely! You can protect your loved ones by giving them the gift of universal identification. Inspired by real codes, these dog tags are engraved with a universal map that lets all intelligent life forms know exactly where in the universe you are from. The tags come with a money back guarantee. If your loved one is abducted by aliens and not returned to earth (while wearing these tags), you will be eligible for a full refund. You can check out the site here.

If those gifts seem too weird, consider the following gifts. These are a little less "out there" and yet still make great Christmas gifts for your UFO loving friends.

The not-quite-unusual Christmas gifts:

Drop by the Kennedy space center gift shop online. There you can purchase a radio controlled space shuttle toy, a Monopoly Night Sky Edition board game, or an "I need My Space" hat with the NASA logo. You can buy a lot of other cool space items there, including freeze-dried space food. There is nothing worse than getting stuck in space and running out of space food. You can find those items and more here, or visit the sources section of this article.

Give them the moon. A wall mounted moon is available from The Kennedy Space Center Gift Shop and All the right stuff. This moon comes with a remote control. Your friend can change the phase to match his/her mood. According to the product blurb, this moon creates a glow similar to real moonlight.

Alltherightstuff.com also has a lot of party favors, including alien pencils, mini astronaut figurines, and small inflatable aliens. All of the party favors are low-priced and would make great stocking stuffers or gag gifts.

Whether you give them space coffee, alien shirts, UFO mugs, the moon, or any of the gifts listed, this Christmas your UFO and space loving friends will thank you for thinking of them.

I absolutely loved these suggestions and I'm not a Sci-Fi geek. A message in space would be great for a has-everything person.
