Many clubs in Baltimore offer more than your usual dance and pool tables. Check out these unusual clubs and have an amazing time while you're in the city!

Sonar

Sonar is well-known for it's awesome sound system and amazing light show. The club employs alot of different DJ's, some who are famous locally, and some who are famous nationally. The bar is fully stocked and has many different martini selections on their menu. Play a game of pool, watch TV, or dance the night away at Sonar. To see a listing of the latest DJ nights and upcoming events, visit their website at www.sonarlounge.com. Or call 410-327-8333. Their address is 407 East Saratoga Street in Baltimore.

Paradox

Paradox is a definite hit because they are allowed to stay open past the usual 1:30 am limit that most bars have. They do not serve alcohol but you are allowed to bring your own beer in until 2 am. Bring in your own vodka or Budweiser, and you'll be all set. Paradox is actually three different rooms. One has a real basketball hoop in it, play a game of hoops while you gaze at the murals and city-art painted on the cinder block walls. Geometric patterns of various colors float lazily in another room. A DJ spins out music, mostly hip-hop and house in the third room. After 1 am there is a cover charge to catch the live music, but its well-worth it. Check out the Paradox at www.thedox.com, or drop in at 1310 Russell Street. You can contact them by phone at 410-837-9110.

Private Club

The Private Club offers a great Latino experience in its upscale club for the rising Hispanic community. When you walk in, you'll see the various flags from more than 20 different nations. Its a tropical paradise with potted palms, exotic fish, and murals of oceans and hot, steamy jungles. Want to catch some different dances? Check out salsa, merengue, and bachata nights, or drop in for the more usual reggae, kumbia, hip-hop, dance, and R&B. Fridays and Saturdays are known for their live Latin music. Upstairs you can replenish your appetite and thirst with their very filling menu. Try a paella, seafood casserole, or a tapas platter. Drink some homemade sangria to wash it all down with. No matter what, your experience at the Private Club will be genuine and entertaining. Check them out at www.latinpalace.com, or stop in at 509 S Broadway Street. Have a great time!
