Unusual and Fun Online Games

A Recreational View of Online Game Entertainment

Shan-Lyn Forsythe
It's the week-end, the weather is horrible, I have a cold, the television is utterly boring with repetitive shows and movies and still I'm restless to wile away time for some play-time fun. I think, "Why not some internet on-line games?".

I shuffle my feet towards the computer, get in the driver's seat and with one finger start the computer engine. I allow it to warm up and then decide to cruise around the internet, searching for some unusual on-line games to play. I look at my faithful little Gateway computer, a classic Flintstone's model, and I understand immediately that the drive (pun intended) will have to settle for a nice friendly cruise.

I slowly pass by Yahoo Games, hear all the yelling and screaming coming out of the "Pool Hall", so I think that perhaps something a little more.....er....tame.... will have to do. I decide to play it solo and safe for the night.

First pit-stop. A game site called "Crazy Chess".
I figured that with a name like "Chess" it had to be a snobby socialite classy joint. I felt a little masochistically inclined, so I entered. However, this version was not the typical version of Chess. Well, after reflexively hopping around for about a kazillion times, I decided that maybe this place was just a little too active for me. One thing though, the music is great if you want to get a medieval high.

Hopping right out of there, still on my high-horse, I then decided to try my luck next door at a hot spot called "3-D Logic".
Granted, I had time to recouperate from the last place but after a while the colors were all starting to look the same, especially the red and orange (remember now, I have the Flintstone's model deluxe, low-dimmed screen) so maybe another place was due, and besides, it just seemed a little too square for me. (Just my way of saving face from letting everyone know that I'm not a genius, and there's a pun there, as well).

I managed to stumble out of there still awake, with a few Visine drops, and then veer towards another hot joint called "Zuma".
This is strangely a fun place to hang out, but I had visited there before and wanted to try something different. Besides, it's too noisy and can get a little nerve-wracking especially in the building's 4th level. I have, however, discovered there's a 5th level floor, but rarely have I been able to succeed a 2nd-time glance due to all the traffic on the 4th level's inter-actions. It's virtually rush-hour, with some poor little toad spitting venom balls out of defense.

I decide to finish the cruise by opting for a quaint little place called "Free The Pharoah".
The place is low-dimmed and squarish-looking, but don't be fooled. In the quietude you can hear the squeaking of your brain, as you try to rescue a prominent pharoah out of a box. If you think it's easy, try getting passed all his Priestesses (if that's what they are, whatever), not forgetting to mention the loyal servant midgets. Personally I have reached every mysterious level, but I'm not going to let you know the count because I want you to suffer just like I did.....er.....have fun just like I did.

As the night wore on, I realized when to call it quits as my eye-balls started drooping. I turned the computer-ignition off and made a bee-line for my bed. The pillow felt so comfortable. I still couldn't get the Crazy Chess horse out of my mind, however. I thought counting sheep was bad. Some things are retentional. Lights out.

I know what you mean about the Crazy Chess. It's wild! I don't how they get it into the 900,000 score. I always use the Novice mode. I can rank at least 100,000. Glad to see someone else knowing about this.
