It was one of the first times that I was traveling to Europe. I was traveling around Europe for two weeks, and I was really excited. I packed a brand new huge luggage suitcase to carry all of my valuable belongings in. I also packed a carry on with a few items in it. I checked my huge luggage suitcase in to my airline carrier to be carried separately in their luggage compartment on the plane I was to be flying on. Sadly I was never to see my brand new luggage suitcase the way it was when I first handed it off to the airline.
When I landed in Germany I went to baggage claim to my luggage. I waited for my luggage to circle around in the baggage claim area. It felt like I waited forever. Finally I had to come to the conclusion that my luggage just was not there. I talked to the airline staff for what felt like forever, and I found out that my luggage had been lost temporarily. I was not a happy traveler.
I learned to be creative with what I had in my carry on for those two weeks. Although I admit I did do a little shopping to recoup what I had lost in my luggage. When I returned home from my trip my luggage finally followed me home. My brand new luggage suitcase looked like it had been beaten up. The zipper was broken, and my clothes were spilling out of it. It was dirty, and it looked like someone had kicked it around for a bit. It was the worst of my lost luggage horror stories, and now when I travel I try to fit everything I need into my carry on to make sure I never have another luggage horror story.

Post a CommentI've lost my luggage too before. It's not much fun, is it? Thanks for sharing your story.

I shared mine too for AC:)
I have had a luggage horror story when I went to Hawaii, it was only missing for a couple of days thank goodness and they delivered it to the hotel. I didn't have a bathing suit though and in Hawaii that is an unfortunate thing so of course I ended up buying one. The rest of the luggage was enough until the suitcase finally came, but I was a bit nervous as it was a 3 week trip I was on and I only had 2 outfits and 2 changes of underwear.
