After you've left Pictured Rocks National Lake Shore you will come to discover you are hungry for more site-seeing. What makes this site-seeing sensory to the eyes excursion so interesting is the fact that the creator, Tom Lakenen, has made this site-seeing attraction in Marquette free to all visitors. Come to drive, bike, or walk through this metal sculpture park in Marquette County.

The ingenious sight that greets your visual senses are the unique practice of 'Going Green,' ideology that creator Tom Lakenen implements; by recycling, reusing and reducing the quantity of scrap metal that would ordinarily be discarded and clogging today's landfills. Tom Lakenen has created some of the most whimsical metal sculpture pieces of art that you can finds while site-seeing here in Marquette County.

The Lakenland Junkyard Art park features well over 100 allotments of metal sculpture art. It can be observed simply by driving, walking or biking through the well groomed road that leads you through the park. Should you be compelled to take this site-seeing adventure at your own pace, there are many seating areas throughout the park and at the trails-end you will discover a playground and picnic area. Tom Lakenen even provides small incidentals you may have overlooked to bring along and make your stay more enjoyable. The picnic area also has a fire-pit and a supply of firewood on hand should you decide to sit a spell and stay after dark.

Lakenland is sure to be a hit with everyone in your site-seeing bevy, and would highly recommend that you bring along your camera, for there is an ample number of shots to be composed at Lakenland.
