Do you enjoy listening to music? Do you enjoy going to see concerts live? More specifically, do you enjoy the sounds of classic and new rock, country, funk, blues, and ska? If you answered yes to any or all of these questions, then you would love the new up and coming band from Rochester, Minnesota, After School Special!

This ten piece cover band features many employees of the Rochester Public School district, as well as other districts in the area, such as Winona, Minnesota, and the Odyssey Academy in Brooklyn Center, Minnesota, hence the name After School Special! They also feature members that work for other area companies, such as IBM, Charter Communications, and the Rochester Center for Autism. The two remaining members are college students, one at Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter, Minnesota, and the other at Rochester Community and Technical College in Rochester, Minnesota. They play a wide variety of songs from several decades and from several genres. The set list includes bands ranging from Blood, Sweat, and Tears to Pearl Jam and Weezer. This will entertain music fans of any age! The set up of this group is two guitars, bass guitar, keyboards, trumpet, tenor sax, trombone, drums, and a male and female singer. They will keep you rockin' for several hours whenever and wherever they play live and you will be asking when and where they play next so you can rock out again and again.

The next time you are in the Rochester area and looking for something to do, check their website at www.myspace.com/afterschoolspecialmn to see when and where they are performing. The website also features a songlist and member list as well as several photos of the band in action and several recordings of their material. You won't be disappointed! I guarantee it!
