Upcoming 'American Idol' Ending Will Be a New Beginning for Someone

Who is Your Favorite on American Idol?

Melissa Wright
We have smiled and cried with our favorites as they have either continued on or been voted off. Now as Carly Simon would say, "Anticipation, it's making me wait."

The anticipation over a new American Idol is not the only news that we are waiting for regarding this season. Simon Cowell is spending his last season with Idol, and going on to other shows. Who will replace him? Who will we spend all of next season angry with? The plans are in the works to replace him, however, it will be a tough job, those are some grumpy shoes to fill, and they will have to have just the right balance, to walk into another season.

Things seem to be changing rather rapidly with our favorite show. After Paula Abdul leaving early on, we were treated to several guest judges until she was replaced with Ellen DeGeneres permanently. Right now all of the buzz is that Paula will return as a guest for the Finale.

By the Hollywood round, there were twenty four semi-finalists, twelve men and twelve women. Next we were on to the really big show competing for the top sixteen spots of eight women and eight men.

The top eight females performed on March 10, 2010, which included Crystal Bowersox, Didi Benami, Katelyn Epperly, Katie Stevens, Lacey Brown, Lilly Scott, Paige Miles, and Siobhan Magnus. Katelyn and Lilly were eliminated, leaving the final six females to perform on March 16, 2010, on the twelve finalists results show.

The top eight males, including Aaron Kelly, Alex Lambert, Andrew Garcia, Casey James, Lee DeWyze, Michael Lynche, Tim Urban, and Todrick Hall performed on March 11, 2010. That left us with six great fellows in the top twelve to perform on March 16, 2010, as Todrick and Alex were voted off.

On March 17, 2010, Lacey Brown was eliminated, leaving eleven remaining contestants. On March 13, 2010, when it came time for the top nine to perform the first week, the judges played their save card for Michael Lynche and we were all relieved. Unfortunately, the next week, we had to say goodbye to Andrew and Katie

On the April 21, 2010, Idol Gives Back show, the public were treated to a telecast from the President and First Lady discussing what a blessing the show has been to families across the United States and all over the world. Tim Urban was eliminated as one of the seven on this week.

We were down to the top six by April 27th, and it seemed to have happened far too quickly, and unfortunately we said our farewell to Siobhan Magnus. The final five performed on May 4th, and on May5th, Aaron Kelly was eliminated.

After being saved previously, it brought tears to our eyes when we eventually had to say goodbye to Michael Lynche when getting down to the top four. The only third wheel remaining was Casey James, who was eliminated on May 19, 2010.

So who do you have it in for? Can you even make a choice? There is far too much talent on this show, and it seems to getter harder every year to watch people be eliminated. Although we are always excited for the winner, our hearts go out to those who go home with the second place prize, because there really is no third place on America Idol.

CASEY JAMES should still be on the show! He is SUPER-TALENTED, GORGEOUS, HUMBLE, and has a GREAT SENSE OF HUMOR!! I won't be voting, as the final two just don't move me the way CASEY did!!
