One thing that has already begun is the Dandridge Farmer's Market. This market is located at the corner of Gay Street and Meeting Street in Dandridge Tennessee. They are open every Saturday from 8:00 until 12:00 noon. Admission is free. Here you can find some local homegrown produce. Homemade local honey and other canned delicious items. Another event that may be of interest to people happens every Thursday in downtown Dandridge Tennessee. It is called Dandridge Music on the Town. This is event is completely alcohol free and for the entire family. Admission only costs you one non-perishable food item and local restaurants will have food available starting at 6:30 P.M. Music will begin at 7:00 P.M.. You do need to bring your own chair. For more information call Rae Hutchins at 865-919-6104 or go to www.musiconthetown.com.
Coming up on October 3, 2009 is Old Time Saturday. This event is located in downtown Jefferson City Tennessee. It begins at 9:00 A.M. and runs until 10:00 P.M. There will be food, entertainment, and a lot of fun. This is a family oriented event and there is no alcohol served. There will also be arts and crafts booths, homemade baked goods for sale, and numerous other booths to see. For more information contact Nancy Tullock at 865-475-7367. You can also got to the Chamber of Commerce website at www.jefferson-tn-chamber.org/events to download an application to enter a booth or other event. Admission is free.
On October 9, 2009 you can enjoy some bluegrass music, fun, food, and meet new friends at the Dumplin Valley Octoberfest located on West Dumplin Valley Road off I-40 Exit 407 about two miles from the Smokey's Ball Stadium. It usually kicks off around 9:00 in the morning and runs throughout the day usually until they feel like ending it. Admission is $11.00 for adults and $6.00 for students. And last but not least is Jam for the Lamb which is a Worship Festival located at the Jefferson County Fair Grounds in Jefferson City Tennessee off of Highway 11-E. It will be held on October 10, 2009 from 9:00A.M. until 10:00 P.M. Admission and parking are free. There will be door prizes and numerous Christian bands. There will be several activities available for children and children at heart. For more information and directions go to www.jam4thelamb.com.
So if you think that Jefferson County Tennessee is just a little bitty county with nothing to do, well here is proof (five of them to be exact) that we do have some good and fun events right here in our little country county.
