Julian Chang, of Chinese heritage, was born in Lima, Peru and began his fashion studies at the Geraldine College of Fashion Design where he created designs for his mother and four sisters. Later Chang attended Miami International University of Art and Design where he graduated and established himself with national and international design companies through internships and design contests. Finally he decided to dedicate himself to creating a name for himself by designing clothes under his own signature.
Chang finds inspiration for his designs from his travels around the world. What started out as a career designing couture clothing for women has branched out into a line of menswear, handbags, jewelry, and footwear. He started his fashion venture through his custom-made bridal, evening wear, and ready-to-wear clothing.
No detail is overlooked in Chang's designs and you are guaranteed top quality and exceptional hand tailoring in each of his pieces. Daring hemlines, plunging necklines, and the use of silky fabrics characterize his womens wear. Unlike many fashion designers, Chang is involved in the whole process - from concept to completion.
Well, one would think that Chang's designs would probably cost a fortune, right? After all, he is a couture designer. Think you couldn't afford designer couture? Think again. Visit his showroom in Miami and you will find that his blouses are actually pretty affordable. Blouses being around $60 and pants start around $120.
Julian Chang has become known worldwide as his designs have been featured in prominent fashion magazines such as Vogue, Lucky Magazine, Womens Wear Daily, and Bazaar - just to name a few. Many of his celebrity clients include Gloria Estefan, Paulina Rubio, Enrique Iglesias, Cristian Castro, Lynn Martinez, Candela Ferro, Paz Vega, Gabrielle Union and Paolo Rey. He has also received numerous rewards such as the Vox Out Style + Design Award that was awarded to him back in 2005 and in 2004 he received the Miami Fashion Week of the Americas Pra-Porter Designer of the Year Award. Womens Wear Daily has nominated Chang as the Up and Coming Ready-to-Wear designer to watch, so be on the lookout for more from this talented designer!
