Great American Cookie Company
Neighborhood: Alexandria Mall
Alexandria, LA 71301
United States of America
A while back, after receiving very poor service, I wrote an article about the Great American Cookie Company location in the Alexandria Mall here in Alexandria, Louisiana. I wanted to let everyone know that after I sent the Corporate Headquarters an email with a complaint about the service or actually the lack of service that I received at this store, I received a reply from the Corporate Headquarters stating that they would check into my complaints and a follow up with me would be made by either the local franchise owner or the company where I sent the complaint.

In the correspondance I received from the Company I was asked to give them about 10 days to check into my complaint and either the franchise owner here or the corporate "people" would get back with me. After 10 days, I received an email from the Corporate headquarters. They appologized for the problems that I encountered and stated that they had talked with the local franchise owner about the problem. (They also sent me a link to go to and print out a coupon for a free Large Pansized Cookie Cake with their compliments.). My intentions in writing the email were to let the headquarters know how poor the customer service was at the local Cookie Store . I wanted to make sure that the Company Headquarters knew the problems that thislocal franchise was exhibiting to their customers. The sheer fact that the employees were handling food items with bare hands was insightful enough to bring my attention to the need for review of Proper Food Handling review by employees. I felt that some retraining was necessary for this business in order to provide sanitary handling of a customer's food items.

I am happy that I got the free cookie cake coupon and also am glad that I can now give the Great American Cookie Company another chance to serve me properly , sanitairly, and courteously. I like to be treated as a valued customer, no matter what I may or may not order. I feel that it is important for employees behind a counter to value all customers equally and courteously. I will not spend my money at a place of business that does not value their customers or one that does not provide proper food handling techiniques.

I do thank Great American Cookie Company for listening to my complaints and doing something about them. I can say that since my complaint, whenever I have passed this store, all employes working with food in have been seen wearing plastic gloves. Sometimes it takes a customer's complaint to keep a business open and going.
