Update on Natalie Holloway: Authorities to Search Site for Remains

The closed case on Natalie Holloway shoved this incident into the back of people's minds, but the curiosity lingers as to where the remains of this young lady lie. Even though authorities have no official evidence as to the fact that Natalie Holloway is dead, Joran van der Sloot's informal confession posted on You Tube indicates that she is dead and that her remains lie in the water. Will Aruban divers find Natalie Holloway?

The Aruban officials will try. According to cnn.com, police intend to search for possible remains of Natalie Holloway. A picture that a tourist couple took shows some signs that they photographed human remains in the area where Natalie disappeared, but the greater public shouldn't get any high hopes because the couple claims that they took the picture close to a shipwreck, so the image may actually be something else.

So, could this actually be the remains of someone from the nearby shipwreck, rather than the remains of Natalie Holloway? It's possible, but it's also possible that the remains belong to Natalie. First, though, authorities need to locate the possible remains, extract the remains, and verify that it's actually a human skeleton, but this possibility looks dim. According to cnn.com, some think this may not be a human skeleton.

Cnn.com reports Dr. Marty Makary, a physician, as telling of missing elements, such as the spinal cord. He even indicates that the curvature of the remains is wrong. Now, this does not necessarily mean that the image is not that of a human skeleton. It just means that it doesn't look quite like a human skeleton would. Still, one would surmise that the way the body went down into the water could have some impact on this.

If this is Natalie, was she bound as someone tossed her over? The supposed confession of Joran van der Sloot tells that Natalie wasn't weighted as she was dumped into the water. Could something else cause this abnormal curvature? Where would the spinal cord be? Buried into the sand? Cnn.com reports a possible article of clothing in this image. If so, will this clothing article tell anything?

These questions and lots more lie in the shadows just waiting for answers, but whether or not the greater public will get these answers depends on whether or not this image is actually Natalie's remains. Even if it is, will her remains give out enough information to convict Joran van der Sloot, or will time spent in the water silence her forever? Stay tuned for more updates.
