As a fan of the show myself, I have been keeping close tabs on the shocking news that Phil Harris, captain of the Cornelia Marie from the Discovery Channel's smash hit, "Deadliest Catch", suffered a stroke. According to recent updates on websites such as TMZ. Los Angeles Times, New York Daily news, as well as direct sources such as www.corneliamarie.com, Phil Harris is recovering from surgery he underwent as a result of the stroke he suffered several days ago. It is said that the surgery took a whopping 12 hours, but no other details have been announced regarding the details of what the surgery was intended to correct and/or repair. At this time, it has been said that he has been placed in a medically induced coma to reduce brain swelling and to allow his body to concentrate on recovery. His sons have both been able to be with him, and a close friend of Phil's flew in to fill in for him and finish out the crab season. Status updates will be made available as more is known. Stay tuned....
