However, Flickr.com only allows users to upload six photos at a time. To make it more convenient, I will introduce you two free software that assist you uploading your pictures fast and easy.
Flickr Uploadr
Download the installing file here. It is only about 800KB and compatible for Windows, Mac OS and Linux. When you use this program the first time, you have to click "Connect". After that, click "Authorize" and put in your username and password in Flickr.com. The program will notice you that "You have successfully authorized the application". Click "Continue" to start uploading.
Drag and drop the pictures you want to upload into the program's window. You can also fill in all the tags to choose the settings for each picture. Then, pick who can view your picture, public or private. I recommend you to resize your pictures before uploading (Flickr Uploadr support resize features). After all the process is done, click "Finish" to command your computer to upload. Depending on your internet speed, the uploading process may be fast or slow.
Windows XP "Send To Flickr"
At first, you have to download .reg file here. Double click the downloaded file to add it into Registry. Use Windows Explorer to open your photo folders. In the Folder Tasks (on the left side), click "Publish this folder to the Web". The "Web Publishing Wizard" will appear. You have to follow the instruction from the wizard include picking the picture you want to upload, choosing pictures will be viewed by public or private, resizing...
In the first time using this "Web Publishing Wizard", you will see the program notice that "Authenticate with your Flickr account". Click "click here to signin to Flickr". Internet Explorer will open the Flickr.com sign in page. Type in your user name and password, click "OK, I'll allow it". You will see a nine numbers code; use this code to put in the "Code" blank in the previous form.
Even though Flickr.com only allows user to upload up to 100 MB each month, it still has many advantages compare with any other free photo service. I hope this article will help you to use Flickr.com more effectively.
