Upstate New York - Kid Friendly Attractions

Mag Inzire
Upstate New York is one of the best pleasures to ever vacation at. It is just one of those places that one can enjoy every aspect of nature along with many daily attractions to visit. If traveling with children there are many wonderful places to visit and spend hours of daily entertainment and fun. There are amusement parks for all day activities along with calm and serene lakes to sit back and relax while the kids play in the sand. No matter what season there is always something to do from apple picking, skiing or just nature watching. Several places that I would highly recommend if planning a vacation to the Upstate New York region with kids would be:

Six Flags Great Escape Amusement Park

This amusement park offers thrills for the entire family of all ages. There are adventure rides, family rides, kids' rides and water rides available for your enjoyment. There is a new Wiggles World children's themed are with a cast of characters from The Wiggles'. Many different daily activities are offered throughout the park which include daily shows, special events, challenging games and entertainment that will suit every family member. Splashwater Kingdom is located within the park as well that offers a wave pool and numerous water rides and water activities for all ages. And best of all is that you can visit the water park for free with your Great Escape theme park admission. Even more fun is during Halloween they offer an Oktoberfest and a Frightfest for all spooky adventures. Admission to the park includes all special events and the prices range from $34.99 - $79.99 for a season pass. Further information can be obtained at http://www.sixflags.com/greatEscape/index.aspx.

Six Flags Great Escape Lodge and Indoor Waterpark

The White Water Bay Indoor Park is a great place that can be enjoyed year round. It is like having 365 days of pure summer fun. Here the kids will experience 38,000 square feet of indoor excitement on every type of imaginable water ride available. There are different activities which include arts and crafts, character meet and greet sessions and even brunch with Bugs Bunny. Day passes are available certain times of the year for a one day adventure, however there are great packages available as well to stay for a night, weekend or week which will include a variety of different events. It is surely an adventure that one must have at least once in their lifetime. Further information can be obtained at http://www.sixflagsgreatescapelodge.com/.

Lake George Steamboat Company

The Steamboat Company on Lake George is truly an adventure that I personally love. This is something that an entire family can enjoy, however the kids really are really the ones that find this a spectacular place to visit. The Steamboat Company sits on the magnificent waters of Lake George with several different cruises that are taken throughout the day. Depending on which cruise is taken will depend on what type of adventure will be awarded. The Minne Ha Ha cruise offers a paddlewheel cruise, a fireworks cruise and a moonlight cruise that provides live entertainment for all ages. The Mohican Cruise has a pizza or pasta cruise and they also offer a discovery cruise which tours the 32 mile stretch of beautiful Lake George. The Lac du Saint Sacrement Cruises offer a variety of brunch, lunch or dinner cruises with entertainment for the young and old. Tickets for any one of these cruises are available online to make it convenient and to assist in planning the rest of your daily activities while visiting attractions in the Upstate New York region. Further information can be obtained at http://www.lakegeorgesteamboat.com/index.asp?lg=1&w=pages&r=-1&pid=0.

No matter what your plans are when visiting the Upstate area in New York State there are plenty of activities for the children to keep them occupied. The best part of these attractions is that they are truly very family oriented. Enjoy your stay!
