Uptown Altamonte, the Place to Be!
Neighborhood: Uptown Altamonte
Altamonte Springs, FL 32701
United States of America
Altamonte Springs, FL truly is the place to be with the Uptown Altamonte being the highlight of this small central Florida suburb with 'big city' appeal. Upon a first glance, one would not think that Altamonte Springs would be all that appealing of a place to live. I thought that I was going to hate it. However, I turned out to love this area.

The proximity of the Uptown Altamonte area is one of the highlights of living here. Driving to Disney World takes 30 minutes or less depending on traffic. Downtown Orlando is only 15 minutes away on I-4 West. Universal Orlando and Sea World are about 15-20 minutes away. You can make it to Tampa and the West Coast beaches in two hours or slightly more, while the East Coast beaches around Daytona are an hour away or less. Some of the major universities such as UCF are merely 30 minutes away out 436 East. Other suburban areas such as Longwood, Lake Mary, Maitland, Winter Park, and Sanford are all between 5 and 20 minutes away.

The restaurants and shopping available to Uptown locals are yet another advantage to Central Floridians in this area. The vast majority of restaurants in Altamonte Springs are easily accessible from 436! Some of the popular restaurants include Kobe, Season 52, TGI Friday, Orlando Ale House, Chilis, Panera Bread, Mi Mi's Cafe, Olive Garden, Red Lobster, Golden Corral, Longhorn Steakhouse, Steak and Ale House, and many many more! For us shoppers, the Altamonte Mall is located right at the forefront of the Uptown entrance with Crane's Roost only in walking distance for the active ones. A large AMC theatre is located just to the left of the mall showing all the hottest and latest movies. The possibilities are endless in this area with regards to recreation!

Altamonte Springs is also remarkably affordable. Of course, everyone's definition of 'affordable' is different, but there are many living options that are easier on the wallet than places in Orlando. Several private owners exist in this area, being that it's an older community, so there are still people out there who are more concerned about renting to those who will take care of the property as opposed to jacking up the rent every year, renting to people who just tear the place up. Most people pay an average of $700-$1000/month for rent depending on various factors (rent, own, how many bedrooms/bathrooms, square footage, etc). To give a more exact idea of the rent, an average 2 bedroom/2 bathroom, 1100 square feet or more runs about $875 in Altamonte Springs as opposed to $1000+ in Orlando.

As you can see, there are many more jewels to be discovered about the Uptown Altamonte area. May this article serve as one to wet your appetite. You are now challenged to see for yourself and embrace all that this beautifully and geniously constructed suburban Central Florida community can do for you! I hope to see you there!
