COLOR
The Get Baked palette comes with four eyeshadows (Twice Baked, Half Baked, Flipside, and Baked) and a deluxe sample of the 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in Bourbon, a dark, deep brown. Starting on the left, you have Twice Baked. Of the colors, this is probably my least favorite, though necessary, but it is gorgeous. It is slightly lighter than Bourbon, but with the same undertones and is great as a liner color or even for defining the crease. The next color is tied for my favorite with Baked, because they are very similar. Half Baked has more of a golden metallic tone, while Baked has a brown metallic tone. Flipside is the funky color made by the heavens as the pop of color on the lower lash line, and complements the other colors superbly. The Bourbon pencil will have a more in-depth review later on, but color wise, I honestly don't think it goes with these colors. I think a lighter brown or even the Flipside 24/7 would look beachier.
FORMULA
Twice Baked has a not-as-smooth consistency, but the other three glide on like butter and have extreme pigmentation. Twice Baked is not bad comparatively speaking, just not to the level of ease the other three colors are at. These stay on all day and blend very easily and are a dream to work with. A little will go a long way and these will last a long time.
FUNCTIONALITY
For summer, I see this as my dream palette. Winter, I deem it useless. However, for all the use you will get out of it in the summer, it is worth it. The palette is super portable and holds everything nicely and since the shadows are so easy to work with, you can easily re-apply after taking a dip in the ocean.
PACKAGING
Get Baked is in a brown box with a almost paisley design element, featuring the name in blue across the front. As mentioned before, it is sturdy and the eyeshadows are very secure in the pots. I have carried this around in my bag and everything went fine. There is a little slot for the eye pencil, but if you were on the go, you could easily put a few sponge tip applicators or a travel-sized brush in it.
PRICE
Urban Decay does not sell the Get Baked Palette anymore, but it is available on eBay for around $20. Considering you get four eyeshadows, eyeliner, and a travel-size of their classic primer potion in Sin, I think this is a great bargain.
FINAL OPINIONS
While I am not the kind of lounge-on-the-beach vacationer, I can see this being a fabulous summer makeup item for those of you who are. It is a natural-sun kissed look and can be played up or down with the use of Bourbon and Flipside. Again, my palette doesn't see much sunlight in the winter, but in the summer, this will be a great item. I am truly sad that Urban Decay discontinued this. If you can find this and are looking for that perfect summer look, I suggest you get it- you will get lots of use out of it.
