COLOR
Half Baked is more gold than it is brown, but I still consider it a neutral since I love in-your-face colors so much. I would call it a gold with brown undertones, but Urban Decay describes it as a subtle, lustrous bronze. When on my eye, the gold just gives a natural kind of glow, but can definitely be paired up with rich blues and purples for an opulent kind of look. It is rather subtle for me, but definitely a very nice summer shade. I will totally be rocking this on the beach this year.
FORMULA
What truly makes the Urban Decay eyeshadows stand out above the rest is their formula. While I have never found one that has horrible pigmentation, sometimes you will get one that is so pigmented that the product clumps. This, however, is not one of those shades. It glides on very easily and the color can be built up to crazy amounts, but still blended out very nicely. This shadow does not last as long as a black or a dark purple, but it without a doubt lasts all day.
FUNCTIONALITY
Since this color can be made fabulous or subtle, it does work in many different looks. I usually wear this by itself in summer time, but also pair it with the more sultry colors in winter, though I wouldn't go overboard with this color in the later months. Since it goes on so easy and can be used in so many different ways and seasons, I think this is a great color.
PACKAGING
Half Baked is regular formula eyeshadow, so it is in Urban Decay's regular silver packaging. While I mention this in all my Urban Decay eyeshadow reviews, I cannot stress enough how much I love the small window in the front. It gives you enough to see the color, but makes it less susceptible to cracking or breaking. Being the clumsy person that I am, this is always a good detail for me.
PRICE
Half Baked retails for $17 wherever Urban Decay is sold.
FINAL OPINIONS
While I do not usually care for neutral shades, I think this is a great shade if you love more golden colors. This is also one of my most reached for shades of summer, so definitely check out this color if you haven't already seen it. I really cannot get enough of this color!
