Urban Decay Eyeshadow in Nylon from the Book of Shadows Vol. II

Layla A.
Not being a huge fan of neutrals and nudes, this is not my favorite color. However, if it were a purple, just for the texture alone, it would be at the top of my list. When I hear the word 'nylon', I think an off white. I don't know why, but it just clicks in my brain. That being said, when I saw Nylon, I was surprised. It is a very universal and interesting color, but I honestly don't think the name fits with the color. However, that really doesn't matter- I am here to review the quality and color, not the way Urban Decay names their products.

COLOR

Like I said, Nylon is definitely not an off white. When you get it on the brush and on your skin, it actually looks a lot more warm and darker than in the pan. It is a light-medium warm brown but looks like a dark beige in the pan. This color can definitely be used with an array of other neutrals/colors, but I feel like it is the classic neutral color and could just as easily be worn by itself.

FORMULA

This color glides on super smooth, but sometimes if you get too much color, it will chunk up on your eye. I definitely recommend a light hand. It is very pigmented and while it won't stay on as long as say, a black, it will stay on all day/night if you use a primer under it. I honestly never have anything bad to say about the Urban Decay formula.

FUNCTIONALITY

Since I do not wear nudes and neutrals unless I have to, this is not a very functional color for me. However, for anyone that loves neutrals and rocks them all the time, this is an interesting color. But, since it is the 'classic' neutral, it is very easily duped. For that reason, it will not be functional if you already have a favorite nude/neutral.

PACKAGING/PRICE

Since Nylon was an exclusive to the Book of Shadows II, Urban Decay currently does not carry it. However, I'm sure you could still find it on eBay and other makeup websites, but you will probably pay a pretty penny for it now.

FINAL OPINIONS

Since this color is dupable, I definitely do not recommend buying the Book of Shadows II just for this color. If your heart has been lusting after it, then go for it- the quality and pigmentation is outstanding. I'm not a wearer of neutrals, so I feel I do not appreciate this one for what it is worth, but it definitely is a good product.
