Urban Decay Eyeshadow in Sellout

Layla A.
Traditionally, I prefer matte highlights. However, if the rest of my look is matte and I want a little bit of shimmer, this is definitely my go-to highlight. It is slightly more nude-brown toned than MAC's Nylon, but it is really great for a shimmery highlight. It is very soft and goes on pigmented, but not so pigmented that it looks like you have white on your eyebrows. I think this is also a great all-over lid color for light makeup days, and definitely does a great job of highlighting the inner corner.

COLOR

Sellout is, like I said, a slightly more nude-toned color than MAC's Nylon. It is a light yellow-nude-beige, and blends in quite well with my skin tone. So well, in fact, that I can use it to highlight any place on my face and still have it look natural.

FORMULA

Just like any other Urban Decay eyeshadow, Sellout is soft, highly pigmented, blends like a dream, stays on all day, works on many different levels, and does not fade after you put it on. A little goes a very long way and since highlighting/blending does not take much product, you will have this one for a long time.

FUNCTIONALITY

Since Sellout is very close to my skin tone, I can use it in a slew of different ways, making it very functional. I use it to highlight the inner corner, blend other colors, highlight my brow bone, highlight all over my face, act as an all-over lid color on light makeup days, and a whole bunch of other ways I cannot even think of. While you won't use it visibly on your face, it does do the job for many different issues/needs.

PACKAGING

Sellout is in the normal silver packaging as it is in their normal line. It has the Urban Decay logo and detailing along with the small plastic window detail that I really like (prevents the top from cracking). The clasp clicks shut and lets you know it, and it is sturdy and well-built enough that putting it in your purse is not an issue at all.

PRICE

Urban Decay eyeshadows retail for $17 at Urban Decay.

FINAL OPINIONS

I do prefer matte highlight colors, but I surprise myself by how often I use Sellout. You may not use it as much if it doesn't match your skin tone as well, so I don't think it is a must-have for everyone. I wouldn't pass on it, but I think a lot of others easily could.
