Urban Legends, Scams and Other Wastes of Time

Protect Yourself, Be Informed

AC FITNESS BOY
Urban legends are annoying emails and stories you hear from friends and co workers that really have no basis in reality. They often scare people and cause widespread panic but are really false. If you ever get an email from a friend telling you about ether perfume knocking out unsuspecting victims or cockroaches coming out of a ladies tongue after licking an envelope, rest assured these are merely urban legends.

If you don't believe me, you can check out snopes.com and see for yourself. I can't tell you how many emails I get about false information and stories that boggle reason. Another annoying spam is fake photographs. Something a friend sends you that is totally fake.

When someone informs you that what you believed to be real was really an urban legend, you feel foolish and had. And silly for sending it to all your friends and family. So if you hear of a business opportunity that sounds too good to be true, like stuffing envelopes and making $10,000 a month, chances are it is a scam where they will have an "overpayment" with a forged check and then you send them a real check and you're out $5000.

Life isn't so simple these days. Someone tells you that you can make a lot of money doing home parties. Especially if you sign up others to do the home parties. Unwittingly, you go for it, and then no one wants to do home parties for you. And your business quickly folds. I had this happen for me with Premier Designs. I had parties where I sold 1 piece of jewelry. That got me angry. This was supposed to be a Christian company. And I couldn't even make an "average" income. So I quickly grew tired of wasting effort to build someone else's dream.

I think it is better to work for someone else and let them invest the money. Currently, I am thinking about going back to school to be a teacher. I love teaching. And I like kids. As for urban legends and scams, I'm sick and tired of them. I wish people would stop wasting my time. It takes a lot of energy to worry about stupid stories and scams.

Who says you need to make a lot anyway. Sure I'd like to. But everything ends up a scam or get rich quick scheme. About the only thing I made money on was selling old books on Amazon.com but don't join the premium sellers membership permanently, just join, list your books and get off. It costs like $600 bucks a year and that's selling a lot of books.

I've made money with Associated Content too. Not a lot, but some. I like that you get advertising money too. So far I've had over 20,000 people read my articles. Not bad for a small town girl.

I agree with Carol. You gave up and expected Premier to do the work for you. Stop whining.

You really can't blame Premier for something you did not do and that is WORK at your business. Direct sales is just like any other job.. you actually have to do it consistently for positive results. This is NOT a get rich quick scheme... it is powerful direct sales. What you put into it, is what you will get out.... nothing = nothing.
