U.S. All-Inclusive Vacations

No Thought, No Stress Resorts

Darcy Sautelet
In a world of hectic day-to-day bill paying, shopping and plain old life organizing, planning a vacation may seem like just one more nerve-wracking nightmare. For this reason, all-inclusive vacations were invented-- for those who want to just pack a bag, jump on a plane and let someone else do all the work. All-inclusive vacation resorts in the United States are less well known than in destinations like the Mexican Caribbean, but they do exist and are thriving in some of the country's top vacation destinations and in exclusive hide-a-ways.

The Point

One of the Adirondack Great Camps built during the 1800's, formerly Camp Wonundra, home of William Avery Rockerfeller, The Point rests in 75 wooded acres of peninsula in the heart of the Adirondack Mountains wilderness of New York. This exclusive resort caters to guests who need to rewind and retreat from the stress of life and aren't looking for the big modern amusement parks and tourist attractions. An old world retreat with modern luxury, each of the guest rooms has a custom made bed, large bathroom and an expansive lake view. Rooms are located in four very different original buildings, The Main Lodge, Eagles Nest, The Guesthouse, and The Boathouse. The Point offers activities all year, boating, swimming, water skiing, fishing in the summer and cross country skiing, ice skating, hockey, and ice fishing. For a little unique excitement, the Olympic facilities in nearby Lake Placid offers the only public blobsled and luge runs in the country.
