US Owning the Sand

SB
BEIJING, Aug 19- American Olympians Misty May-Treanor and Kerri Walsh are ready to show the world that US can own the sand as it face China once again, this time in the Olympic beach volleyball title, after defeating Brazil on semifinals Tuesday here.

The said US Duo won 21-12, 21-14 over Renata Ribeiro and Talita Antunes of Brazil.

"They are perfect. Nobody is going to beat them," Ribeiro conceded, according to Reuters.

The two American ladies equally worked not only in the executions, but, in the defense as well.

Every spike of Treanor and Walsh gave Brazilians a hard time of catching up on the lead the US duo enjoyed since the beginning of the game.

A combination of physical agility as they dive for digs, and sharpness of mind as it strongly blocked the net in a very fast paced game, Brazil couldn't just keep up.

"We've accomplished one goal-to get to the gold medal match-but we're not done yet. We want to get out there and kick butt against the Chinese on their home soil," said Walsh, according to Reuters.

May-Treanor and Walsh will be facing China's Tian Jia and Wang Jie on the final this Thursday. A back- to-back gold quest for US men and women, for the beach volleyball title.
