US Day of Rage

USDOR Calls for U.S. Citizens to Protest

On September 17, 2011 protesters will be lined up in state capitols across the United States for the "US Day of Rage" campaign. Many people are fearing violence even though the website for US Day of Rage (USDOR) insists it will be a non-violent protest.

The USDOR slogan "One citizen. One vote. One dollar" calls for limiting campaign contributions to no more than one dollar per citizen per vote. Leaders are urging people to take back their state capitols in order to take back their country. The US Day of Rage website also claims that "Free and Fair elections remedy the myriad ills and abuses of a corrupt and illegitimate government, which preys on the resources and spirits of citizens." The USDOR website goes on to say "Bought by hard and soft dollars, disloyal, incompetent, and wasteful special interests have usurped our nation's civil and military power, spawning a host of threats to liberty and our national security."

As U.S. citizens get more frustrated and another presidential election looms ominously in the near future, many fear this protest could lead to violence and a revolution here in the United States. With the current a poor U.S. economy and record unemployment and it could be a recipe for disaster.

The USDOR website also gives tips on dealing with the police, ensuring solidarity and encouraging protesters to bring cameras and video recorders to document the event.

The USDOR is also calling for another protest on October 6, 2011 in protest of the Afghanistan occupation and the new federal budget. This date was chosen as it is the 10th anniversary of U.S. occupation in Afghanistan. The sister site to USDOR is October2011.org.

Protest organizers are asking volunteers to protest at Freedom Plaza in Washington D.C.
