U.S. Domestic Insurgency Encroaches on States' Rights and Individual Liberties

There are those in the United States who are determined to radically shift the balance of power away from the individuals and States. The term domestic insurgency has been used recently to describe an internal uprising by American citizens who are frustrated with their government. Common use of the term domestic insurgency relates to alleged U.S. Federal Government plans to thwart any insurgency of the American citizenry through Counterinsurgency Operations. Counterinsurgency Operations are those military, paramilitary, political, economic, psychological, and civic actions taken by a government to defeat insurgency (JP 1-02). It is my conviction that there is an insurgency occurring in this country that does not include the general populace, but does fit the doctrinal definition as found in Department of Defense Joint Publication; An insurgency is organized movement aimed at the overthrow of a constituted government through use of subversion and armed conflict (JP 1-02).

In the past eight years Domestic Insurgency has become increasingly obvious as civil liberties have been stripped away at an alarming pace, finance and private industries are being purchased by government, and the people's voices are marginalized by deaf eared representatives and slanted journalist.

In conducting Psychological Operations I have conducted Counterinsurgency (COIN) Operations in the context of a near collapse in a foreign country's internal defenses, raising the threat of insurgent activities to imminent or present. It is important to note that insurgencies do not happen overnight, or spontaneously. Some conditions are set through years of manipulation; other conditions are set by an insurgent force being prepared to capitalize on unforeseen events when they present themselves.

Americans have seen the exploitation of crisis in order to grow government through recent events ranging from climate change propaganda, to the September 11, 2001 attacks by radical Islamic terrorist , to the current receding economy. The current Stimulus bill before Congress is the most overt example of a socialist power grab in U.S. history.

Insurgents only act boldly when they believe they have the popular support of the people. It matters not if the support has been garnered through deceptive communications; the rule in information warfare is that perception is more important than reality. I do not adhere to the belief that any of these crises were perpetrated as psychological acts to influence the populace, but I do see patterns consistent with a preparedness to move forward an agenda as circumstances present opportunities. We mustn't remain complacent towards the activities of any in power. It is not for us to be subversive, but rather to preserve that which has been fought for, founded, and defended by patriots before us.

I was told by a congressional staffer that when the Constitution is mentioned on the floor as basis for an argument that the one presenting the argument can expect to be scoffed at by the majority of Representatives. I wonder at the number of Americans the attitudes of these Representatives truly represent. How many see this document as archaic and irrelevant, having little purpose other than to bind a people who have little else in common? Similar views are reflected amongst atheist and non-Christians who see the Bible as a binding agent for individuals having no real value as a book of instruction.

It is critical that we consider the regard in which these documents, the Bible and the Constitution, are held in that insurgencies always center on emotional themes, a common cause. Rally calls and battle cries empower the insurgent force, and the framers of our Constitution knew that an amoral populace would not defend a document that requires of every man responsibility and gives to each the opportunity to succeed, and the risk of failure.

The insurgency that is before us today is succeeding because the socialist wart that has infiltrated every level of our government is offering to relieve us of our individual responsibility and too many have long forgotten the value of being an individual. The rallying cry of this insurgency is Security, Homeland Security; Security from terror, security from the earth's climate change, security from poverty, security from competition, and security from anything that will bring the masses to a groundswell supported revocation of the liberties that would put us at risk.

Counterinsurgency in this case must be conducted by the patriots who do not believe Socialism in America was ever the intended result of our once democratic republic. Counterinsurgency requires the popular support of the people. Support can only be gained by exposing the insurgency's true agenda, and by giving a viable alternative, and a clear call to action. The clear call to action is for every American to engage in the national dialog, and not settle for sound bites and campaign quotes. Counterinsurgency is grassroots warfare that must be fought in the town hall and the town square. Recognize what socialism looks like, understand its agenda and goals, and then oppose it at every turn. Write your Representatives and voice your beliefs. The R3publican site addresses the restoration of liberty and published activity going on in Oklahoma that should be emulated by every State in these United States. The following resolution was passed with a vote of 83Y to 13N in the Oklahoma House on February 19, 2009.

Oklahoma claiming Sovereignty under 10th Amendment - HJR 1003Oklahoma HJR 1003 declares, in part: "THAT this serve as Notice and Demand to the federal government, as our agent, to cease and desist, effective immediately, mandates that are beyond the scope of these constitutionally delegated powers. THAT all compulsory federal legislation which directs states to comply under threat of civil or criminal penalties or sanctions or requires states to pass legislation or lose federal funding be prohibited or repealed."
Oklahoma is looked to as a leader in state's rights and it is important that this bill pass both the House and the Senate in 2009.
