President Obama continues to vacation and enjoy various activities with his family at his Martha's Vineyard vacation spot. For the most part, the President has kept himself and his family out of view, which disappointed some residents living near the President's vacation spot. President Obama is expected to deliver a eulogy for the late Senator Ted Kennedy this Saturday.

Nixon Hoped for a Ted Kennedy Scandal

In the early 1970s, President Nixon was no friend to Ted Kennedy. The former President hoped that Kennedy would do something uncouth like have an affair. This is not just speculation about some political feud between the former President Nixon and Ted Kennedy. A tape containing dialogue between Nixon and two other persons clearly indicates that Nixon hoped to find dirt in Kennedy's closet.

Woman Fired for Taking Breaks to Pump Milk from Breasts while at Work

LaNisa Allen, who was fired for taking unscheduled breaks to pump her breast for milk lost her case against her former employer, Totes/Isotoner Corp. The Ohio Supreme Court ruled that Allen's discharge was not due to discriminatory practices by her former employer. Additionally, the court found that Totes/Isotoner Corporation was not in violation of the Ohio Pregnancy Discrimination Act. Dissenting opinion made mention of the idea that Allen's unscheduled breaks for breast pumping were the same as unscheduled restroom breaks taken by other employees.

Most Jewish Israelis Believe Obama is Pro-Palestine

Few Israelis of Jewish descent believe that President Obama supports the nation of Israel. The majority of the Jewish Israelis surveyed believe that Obama supports the Palestinian cause. In recent months President Obama has encouraged Israel to cease their expansion of settlements in the West Bank. Fifty-percent of the polled Jewish Israelis were unwilling to halt settlement developments for a period of one year. The poll which surveyed 500 Jewish Israelis was conducted by Smith Research in June 19.

Bill Supporting Better Aid for Needy Students May Not Cut It

President Obama's attempt to take a stand for higher education may fall flat. Obama wishes to pass a bill through Congress that would allow more students to attend college by awarding a need based grant. Unfortunately, the costs of education are on the rise and that cost would likely swallow up the grant reward. This bill would offer students a great benefit and keep student loan interest rates lower and make aid available to veterans.

Kentucky High School Coach Faces Reckless Homicide Charges

David Jason Stinson, a Kentucky high school coach faces charges of reckless homicide after a high school football player collapsed during practiced. The teen later died in a hospital. The coach required the players to sprint until one of the teammates left the team. Prior to Max Gilpin's collapse, several players became ill; and two other players quit the team. Trial is set to begin Monday, August 31.
