U.S Premier for Spider Man 3 Announced
This will be the official U.S. premiere of Spider-Man 3 and it will be shown at the Kaufman Astoria movie theatre in Queens. The borough of Queens also happens to be where Peter Parker, Spider-Man's alter ego, lives.
The April 30 U.S. premiere will not be the first showing of Spider-Man 3 in the world. Tokyo will see the film premiered on April 16 and London will host a Spider-Man 3 premiere on April 23.
The Spider-Man 3 premiere is set to be a huge spectacle. Stars of the film, including Toby Maquire, are expected to enter the movie theatre by walking down a black carpet and following a marching band.
The evening of the Spider-Man 3 premiere won't be all that fans of the comic book hero will be treated to. The entire week leading up to the premier will be dedicated to Spider-Man where many themed events will occur. One event will be a chance for fans to view the previous Spider-Man films. There will also be exhibitions and even a rap contest that has a Spider-Man theme.
The co-founder of the Tribeca Film Festival happening in New York City at the end of April, Jane Rosenthal, has said, "Bringing exciting and new events to NYC and its community is one of the major goals of the festival. Hosting the U.S. premiere in Queens and celebrating the release throughout the festival will give us the opportunity to reach out to a new community, as well as to the devoted fan-based of the Spider-Man series."
Spider-Man 3 is one of the most anticipated films of the year. The third in the series sees a number of familiar faces. The film is still directed by Sam Raimi and the previous stars, Toby Maguire and Kirsten Dunst have returned. Viewers will get the chance to see their favorite characters as well as meet some new evil villains, Sandman and Venom.
The official opening of Spider-Man 3 to the public will occur on May 4, worldwide.
The Tribeca Film Festival has been running since 2002. The festival was co-founded by Robert De Niro and Jane Rosenthal. The goal of the festival was to help bring life back in to Lower Manhattan after the 9/11. The 2007 Tribeca Film Festival will run from April 26 to May 7.
