U.S. Victorious in 2010 Winter Olympics

Robert Lee Alford
After watching the Americans clean the clocks of the Scandinavian world by besting them at events that they themselves originated and then hauling a record amount of medals home, it has to be said " Well done guys and gals. Well done!"

To me the winner of an event such as this can be decided in only one way; the one with the most medals wins!

Now, not to say that if the U.S. team had won more gold, I would not be happy and maybe make the same lame argument for Olympic supremacy as Canada did but in my heart I realize that the number 37 is larger than 26.

Canada's 14 gold medals is the reason they use to justify their claim but they fail to admit that America's 37 medals (9 gold) represent the winter Olympic medal haul in history.

If we were hunting for Canadian Geese, the winner would not be the one who came back with the prettiest ones but the guy who came back with the most.

Besides that, they are not even our traditional sports, we beat them at what they do best (or did until this year).

It would be like Canada beating us in football, now that is something to think about. Imagine some team like say, The Vancouver Moose (made up name) playing the New Orleans Saints for the Canadian /American Super Bowl, and they beat us 37-26, absurd.

It's as absurd as: Tyson loosing to Douglas (lost money on that one)

Thor losing to Super Man (SM may be the man of steel but

Thor's a God! Thank you.)

Bruce Lee had been beaten by Chuck Norris. (snicker).

It would be as ridiculous as a first term senator being elected to the White House.

O.K. with the exception of the Bruce Lee thing, these were bad examples. But I am sure you get my meaning. Our team met them on their own ground and took them to the tool shed and laid it on them and that's the truth.

--Please don't sue me clause--

Oh and of course, the spirit of competition and fairness made these games a win for all participants......NNNOOOTTT.

Funny! I think 26 is good, nothing to laugh at, but Canada's gloating I'm sure.
