USA 3000 is one airline which does not get the amount of credit or attention it should. It is one of the best low-cost carriers in the United States yet the average flier has never even heard of USA 3000. Their superior service and competitive prices give them the potential to become a leading carrier in the United States. The following article will give you a basic understanding of USA 3000.
Background Information:
USA 3000 was founded by Apple Vacations in 2000 and had it's inaugural flight in 2001, only months after the September 11th terrorist attacks. Many of their current destinations were added in 2002 and 2003. USA 3000 connects many markets in the Northeast and the Midwest to many different vacation destinations, such as Florida and Mexico. In recent years, USA 3000 has received much acclaim from it's passengers and won many awards.
Check-in:
Check-in on USA 3000 is perplexing. It is a check-in that you would have expected thirty years ago. There are no computers at the check-in counters. Instead, there is a large pile of pre-printed boarding passes which three agents share. Although this may sound like an extra ten minutes standing line, it isn't. This system actually works better as the counter is always fully staffed.
Gate Area:
USA 3000's gates have nothing special, but the location of many of their gates are unique. On many of their domestic flights departing from the Northeast or the Midwest USA 3000's gates are located in the airport's international terminals. This is quite exciting for both plane spotters and average fliers alike, as you are surrounded by some pretty extravagant planes such as the Boeing 747 and the Boeing 777.
The Flight:
One of the best aspects of flying USA 3000 aside from it's superb prices is the in flight experience. All passengers receive a free soft drink along with a plentiful amount of snacks. On select flights, tropical juice is given in addition to the soft drinks. All of USA 3000's aircraft include slim LCD Screens that play movies and TV shows during the flight. A few channels of music are also offered with the free earphones that are distributed. Prior to the rising fuel costs, USA 3000 also used to include meals on all flights. Meals now are overpriced at $5, but for hungry travelers, this is not a problem.
Arrival:
The one major problem of USA 3000 is exposed upon arrival. Baggage can take over thirty minutes to roll into the baggage pick-up area. It is unknown why this process takes so long with USA 3000, but the baggage problem is a common complaint among USA 3000 fliers. If USA 3000 made the effort to solve this problem, their flights would be flawless.
Conclusion:
Overall, USA 3000 is an airline that everybody should consider flying on. It's competitive prices along with it's superior service leaves other airlines in the dust. If USA 3000's management could step up the advertising, their airline would become a leading carrier within the United States.
