USA's Hot Summer Nights

Top Three Heat-Seeking Television Shows

Melissa R. Mendelson
It was a hot summer night, and my television was burning. The vampires are a sweet but bitter Southern bell, and their thirst for vengeance, their need for blood is ringing through the fan-crazed thriller, True Blood. The games are afoot, and the characters are plenty, vying for the crown in the Game of Thrones. Age is a silver tear racing across time, and we laugh and we cry with the boys of Men of a Certain Age. The fires are brewing, and the drama spilling. And here comes the hero now, and he's ready to close the final show on what we will miss called Rescue Me. But it's hot summer nights across the shores of USA, and their characters wanted are ready to ignite. And their stories will burn the night away.

3. Royal Pains (Returning June 29th)

Change are the harsh waves striking shores, but memories will never fade away. Footprints of stories told come back for another sunny holiday, and the rays of sun are burning ground, lives golden with another year gone. Home maybe forgotten, evicted, but love remains, a whisper of a promise, if she were to return. The bonds of family will never break, and Hank Med will rise again. The waves of drama are flowing in brilliance, ready to pull us under, and hold us tight, stealing our breath away, and the doctor will soon be in.

2. White Collar (Returning June 7th)

The game is never over. Catch me if you can, but will all the pieces be put together? Or will the greatest heist be his? They dance toe to toe, tango to tango, partners in crime, but will their rhythm and beat no longer be in line for lines are about to be crossed? And trust may carry a price. The game is afoot. Winner take all, but will the real culprit please step up, making the house of cards fall? And will the bonds of friendship survive, or will Neal and Peter find themselves once again on opposite sides?

1. Burn Notice (Returning June 23rd)

The intensity of summer rises another notch, exploding with anticipation, and Burn Notice is ready to launch. Michael Westen is no longer public enemy, kept out in the cold, and all the conspiracy are now stories already told. A new chapter is beginning. Time to come back home, but will the old crew be waiting? Or will new missions take hold, carrying him further from those in his heart? Or will this journey fail to keep them apart? Lives are begging to be saved. A hero is called, the burned spy is needed, and his new life is ready to unfold. But be careful what you wish for because we can never go back, and mistakes will be made. And enemies will be on attack, so sit back and relax. The best of summer is yet to come, and the bitter finales and jagged cliffhangers are finally done. And now it's time for Michael Westen to have some fun.
