Use Angie's List to Find a a Pro in the DFW Area

Forget the Yellow Pages

I needed to get a few things done around the house. Things I was not qualified to do, like trim the tree in the back yard, fix the sink, and replace some shingles on the roof. (Scraped off by that tree I needed to have trimmed.)

I saw a little ad in the Dallas Morning News, which mentioned Angie's List. I went online, and checked them out at www.angieslist.com .

Perusing the site, I discovered that the contractor reviews on Angie's List were done by people like me who had actually hired these service people, and rated them on how well they performed.

I also discovered Angie's List does not allow contractors to list themselves. The only way a Service Company can even get on the site is to have a customer write a review that adds them.

If you have a room addition done by a contractor, and are happy with the work, you can list them on Angie's List and give them a super rating. But you, the customer have to add them to the list.

Let's say you have a bad experience with a company. Those go on Angie's List as well. Wouldn't you want to know a company to avoid?

The first thing I needed to do was get a huge tree in our back yard trimmed, as my wife was convinced that the next storm we had (and we have plenty of them in North Texas) was going t cause a limb to come crashing through our rood. After joining Angie's List, (which costs $59.00 per year) I went up online, and searched for tree trimmers, and was able to drill down the list to find one near our home. I contacted them, and they came out and gave us an estimate. We agreed upon a price, and they came out at the appointed time and did the work.

They charged me exactly what was agreed upon and gave me a discount because we had found them on Angie's List. Naturally we wrote them a stellar review.
Many of the companies listed on Angie's List will offer discounts if you mention you found them there.

We have since found a plumber, and a roofing company through Angie's List. This is a business relationship that will save us much time and trouble trying to find reputable contractors.

Angie's List has over 750,000 contractors listed with them throughout the country. You should be able to find them in your area. Angie's List will give you peace of mind, and will never steer you wrong.
