Use Your Cell Phone to Go Green and Get Cash for Doing It

Going Green

Rosa Hayes
Cell phones hard to recycle but they can be refurbished or traded in for some cash. Cell phones contain a lot of toxins and yet there are still thousands of them thrown away each year. The reason many people don't recycle old cell phones is because they don't realize that they can get cash for them or that recycling them is actually easier than it looks. More people should consider going green with their cell phones or refurbish them for cash since they often leak those toxins into our water supply.

Donate used cell phones

I wanted to start off by talking about donations since these are often tax deductible. There are many organizations that will allow you to donate your used cell phones to charities and they will either give a check to the chosen beneficiary like they do at Charity Cell Phones. These charities will often find places and new homes for your old cell phones and if they can't they will get rid of them in an eco-friendly manner.

Sell your used cell phones

Selling your old cell phones has become easier because of the internet. Many people are taking advantage of the cash that these companies are willing to offer for their cell phones. Companies like Sell For Cash and Sell Your Cell are willing to give people cash for the used cell phones. If you don't know how much your cell phone is worth you can always go to one of these sites and enter your cell phone information into their system to see what it is worth.

Either way that you chose to get rid of your cell phones, know that you are doing the world some good by recycling them for the better good of the earth.
