Use a Cloak of Corruption for Easy Healing, Anatomy, Meditation, Focus and Stat Gains in Ultima Online

You can effortlessly raise healing, anatomy, meditation and focus using a Cloak of Corruption. Cloaks of Corruption are rare black shrouds that were found during the Shadowlords Invasion event in Ultima Online, from fallen Shadowlords. Although the event is over, you can still obtain a Cloak of Corruption from other players for about 500,000 gold pieces and they are not rare.

If you use a Cloak of Corruption to raise your healing and anatomy skills, you will be able to reach 120 or legendary skill easily. All you need to get started is the Cloak of Corruption and a stockpile of bandages. Once you put the Cloak of Corruption on, you will feel your life force being drained away and will slowly lose your hit points, mana and stamina. Although you will constantly lose hit points the Cloak of Corruption will not kill you. The amount of hit points that the cloak drains away is approximately 5-15 per tick, similar to the necromancy spell Lich Form. The cloak will also steadily reduce your karma and has other interesting effects.

Use bandages and you will steadily gain both healing and anatomy. Most melee templates are greatly benefited by the healing and anatomy skills. Without this method, gaining in healing and anatomy is a slow tedious process at best and it could take weeks to accomplish what you would have gained a short time using the Cloak of Corruption.

If you are training a new spell caster and want to have focus and meditation, you could wear the Cloak of Corruption and use hit point regeneration items to counter the loss of hit points. Focus and meditation are some of the easiest skills in Ultima Online to raise but the Cloak of Corruption is still a useful item to have when you're trying to raise a new character up quickly. You will also be able to gain stats such as intelligence by using this item and passively working your meditation and focus skills.

A Cloak of Corruption can also be used to train a Cu'Sidhe pet's healing skill, just put the cloak on and the Cu'side will attempt to heal you, gaining anatomy and healing. Cu'Sidhe healing is notoriously difficult to train at high levels but I noticed gains using this method right away because my character was almost dead. The difficulty of a healing skill check is determined by the amount of hit points that need to be healed.
