Use Facebook to promote your charity. This social site attracts millions of people who can support your work as soon as they find out about your cause. Do:

1. Set up a page.
Set up a Facebook page about your charity. You should use your charity's name in the url (i.e. www.Facebook.com/yourcharitysname). Then, give details about whom you're trying to help and how others can support you. You can even post a link to which people can go to donate funds or join up.

2. Share fun photos.
Use Facebook to promote your charity by sharing fun photos of events. These events should be ones in which you are assisting others with volunteers and/or celebrating afterward. What you post will give any interested parties a good idea of what you're all about and what they can expect.

3. Start a fan club.
Facebook gives all of their members an opportunity to start a fan club. You can do one for your charity and get extra exposure. By going this route, you obtain an additional page on which you can put more photos and information. Your fans also can interact with each other and discuss the worth of your cause.

4. Send news alerts.
Did your charity make the news or get written up in a magazine? Alert your friends and family through Facebook. Using Facebook to promote your charity in this way helps others see that your charity is legit and worthy of their time and money.

5. Post charity events.
Whenever you plan an event for your charity, post a note about the date, time and activity on Facebook. Then, ask your followers to tell everyone they know. By doing so, you'll always have a full house and plenty of dough to do good works.

6. Buy promotional ads.
You can actually by ads on Facebook. Needless to say, this is the most obvious method to use Facebook to promote your charity. After you set up your fan page, you'll get an option to purchase an ad. You can complete this task based on your budget and desire for visibility.

7. Communicate with volunteers.
Save time and energy by using Facebook to communicate with volunteers. You can set up a general meeting without having to rent a location or spring for food. You also can start a discussion that lasts for several days without ruining someone else's schedule.
