Use Furniture to Help Control Unsightly Clutter

There is a Place for Everything!

You can easily use furniture to help hide clutter around your home, items that always seem to be out of place and in the most inconvenient spaces. Your children's book bags, jackets, shoes, and other countless items that jam up your doorways and halls. Use these ideas to help hide the everyday clutter and keep your home looking neat and tidy all the time.

Storage Benches

These types of benches are two things in one, not only can you have a place to sit, it doubles as storage. You can put the storage bench in the foyer of your home or in the mudroom. Family members can then throw their belongings in the storage bench and nobody would be the wiser.

It's especially handy for the little ones because they can reach into the bench easier than they could a conventional closet.

Any arriving guests that visit can also remove their shoes and jackets and place them in the storage bench, and when it's time to go, they know exactly where their belongings are.

Armoires

These closet-like cabinets are perfect for living rooms, dining rooms, and even in each of the bedrooms. For the living room, the armoire can house the television set along with the gaming systems and any other related items. It's perfect because they are typically smaller than entertainment centers, and you can easily change the tone of the room by simply closing the doors to hide the television set.

Armoires are great for children's rooms as well; they provide excellent space for the children to easily manage their belongings because it is more compact than a traditional closet and easier for them to reach their things.

Foyer Credenzas

There are many homes that have been built with areas near the front door where people who are entering could place their belongings, such as purses, keys, jackets, and such.

Placing a foyer credenza in this space would be perfect because this long dresser usually has six to nine drawers, which is perfect for the capability of assigning a drawer to each person.

This provides a perfect hidden area for all the loose items and when it's time to leave, everyone knows exactly where their belongings are.

Day Beds

Day beds are typically built higher off the ground than traditional sofas so they have the perfect opportunity for hiding storage bins to stash items underneath. You can throw a few of your favorite pillows across the back and you have comfortable seating for family and guests.

Day beds can also transform into a bed for overnight guests. To hide the items underneath just get a bed skirt and it will look even more beautiful while also hiding the clutter.

Try all of these ideas for controlling clutter around the home and there won't be any problem of trying to hide clutter again, you will know just where to put everything.
