Support yoga practice with aromatherapy essential oils. They sterilize mats, ease muscle strain and enhance meditation. Use our tips to maximize the benefits of your yoga practice.

Aromatherapy Essential Oils to Enhance Your Yoga Practice: Tip 1

Mix 5 drops of Tea Tree oil, 2 drops of Clove oil, 3 drops of Rosemary and 5 drops of Lavender oil in a 4 oz. spritzer bottle of water. Spray your mat and feet after each yoga practice to disinfect.

Aromatherapy Essential Oils to Enhance Your Yoga Practice: Tip 2

Stay cool and refreshed by adding a drop of food grade Peppermint oil to your bottled water.

Rub Peppermint oil on back of neck and soles of feet to stay cool.

Aromatherapy Essential Oils to Enhance Your Yoga Practice: Tip 3

To support stressed muscles, rub Rosewood, Frankincense and Spruce on the bottom of the feet. They motivate you to exercise even if you don't feel like it.

Use Wintergreen, Juniper, Marjoram, Peppermint, Eucalyptus, Cypress and Lemongrass on sore muscles and tendons. They add oxygen and make tissues more elastic to prevent strains. Use after practice to prevent cramping. Cypress reduces swelling. Layer one oil at a time with 2 drops.

For stressed areas like the lower back and shoulders, rub Birch (which has an aspirin like property), Clove and Peppermint to reduce pain. Layer 2 or 3 drops of oil at a time.

Aromatherapy Essential Oils to Enhance Your Yoga Practice: Tip 4

For a clear mind and focus, put a drop of Frankincense or Peppermint on chest and forehead to inhale during inward poses.

Aromatherapy Essential Oils to Enhance Your Yoga Practice: Tip 5

Before meditation, put a drop of Myrrh, Sandalwood, Juniper, Bergamot and/or Spruce on crown and forehead. Use any combination of these oils depending on what seems right. Layer one at a time.

Hi Amanda, the brand of essential oils I use is Young Living. However, there are other companies. It's just that I like YL because of their purity. I hope this helps. Thank you for your support. Deborah

this all sounds wonderful but for the life of me, I cannot locate where to buy these oils-

any online sites or do I need to go to a Whole Foods/Vitamin cottage type store? Thanks!!!

I agree with A. J. I not only read the article, I try to understand how others use keyword density. I really 'study' others' articles instead of just reading them. You always have great ones...thanks!!

Thanks for the ideas; I just may try some in my practice. P.S. Excellent use of keyword repetition; I just may try that for my own articles!
