Use Scrapbooking to Start a Business

The Scrapbooking Boom

Karen Barnes
Each and every year there are new advancements in the area of Scrapbooking. There are new materials, layouts, business opportunities cropping up with each of the retailing trends.

Like any other home based business, there will be work and time required by you to be put into your business to make it grow. You will need to research what kinds of Scrapbooking business exist in your area and build your business plan from there.

There will be a start-up cost associated with this business like any other. The cost of starting your own Scrapbooking business will mainly depend on the area that you choose to start your business.

Think that starting a Scrapbooking business is too risky? That depends on what your definition of what too risky is. With a Scrapbooking business it really isn't any more risky than the job you have now. The reason being is that you can be replaced by someone else that will work at a lower salary, a layoff, the outsourcing of your job, pending closure or sale of the company that you work for, and there are many other reasons that your current job is as risky as starting a home business.

Then there are your own personal reasons for wanting to start your own home business. At your current job, you may feel that you are no longer being allowed to be creative as you once were, a dead-end job, the pay isn't quite as it should be or you would rather have more time with your family.

The best part of joining the Scrapbooking revolution is that it is a multibillion dollar industry that hasn't reached its peak. In the U.S. alone, retailers are seeing a billion-dollar surge in sales of products related to Scrapbooking. When you consider the amount of money being made in the U.S. alone, can you imagine the possibilities of the sales worldwide.

Not only are sales being generated from the supplies needed to create Scrapbooks, sales are being generated through workshops, classes, conventions, retreats, cruises, and in many other areas. The innovative entrepreneurs are creating their own revenue streams from Scrapbooking. They are creating new products, opening stores, writing books, teaching their own classes, becoming direct sales consultants, and a wide array of other opportunities that are not available to those in their areas.

You will need to realize that it doesn't matter what area of Scrapbooking that you decide to take on, but you will have to advertise your products or services. Without advertising, it will not matter what you decide to specialize in when no one realizes you are in business.
