Lip stick: choosing the right colors - Since most Indian women have been blessed with attractive caramel-colored skin, it's necessary to ensure that you don't choose lipstick that is too pale in color. Pinks and other light colors usually look better on lighter colored skin, so testing out colors besides pinks may be a good idea. Many women with darker-colored skin look great in wine or plum-colored lipsticks, so you may want to see which of these colors will accentuate your skin tone the best.
Perfect skin - Many Indian women have been taught early on the importance of a wholesome diet when it comes to flawless skin. Following a diet that is high in protein, whole grains, berries, vegetables, etc, are great for encouraging healthy skin. You might also want to refrain from using regular store bought items on your face, as many cleansers, toners and moisturizers can be made from using foods like cucumbers, cream, milk and more. Many recipes for certain facials can be found by performing a Google search.
Ward off foot trouble - Many American women suffer from foot trouble like corns, calluses, hammertoes, and bunions because of their desire to look attractive. Many will wear high heeled shoes despite experiencing pain, while most Indian women are sensible when it comes to fashion and footwear and wear supportive and comfortable shoes whether they're fashionable or not. You might want to stick to sensibility instead of allowing the mistakes of American women to influence you to make the same mistakes. There's no reason to completely avoid wearing high heeled shoes, but saving them for special occasions only may be a good idea.
Make your own saris - Traditional Indian women wear saris, or decorative cloths draped over their clothing. If you wear saris, you can save a great deal of money by making your own. Fabric can be purchased online or from local fabric stores, and by making saris yourself, you have the opportunity to personalize yours and be original.
Stick with threading as opposed to waxing - American women, like Indian women, are concerned with excessive hair growth, and waxing is a popular way that many choose to remove it. For Indian women living in the U.S., salons that offer waxing are a lot easier to find than those that offer threading as a hair removal technique. Threading is usually performed only by traditional Indian women, and is performed by taking a piece of thread and wrapping in around the fingers and the hairs in order to catch hair in-between, safely removing it in the process. If you can find an Indian salon that performs threading, you may want to stick with it since hair grows back slower and you don't have to worry about a layer of your skin being removed, like with waxing.
