Useless Deaths in Dallas, a Poem

Murder is Always Murder, and it is Wrong

robritt

Useless Deaths

A tortured soul
Within them lays
Perhaps tormented
From other days

What makes them
Prone to kill?
Is it genetic
Or free will?

Who knows what
Lives in their brain
Like the story
Of Able and Cane.

Dahmer, Manson
All the rest
What ticks within;
What is the test?

Children dying
Love ones gone
What makes them
Killing prone?

How can we stop
This useless crime
Killing more
All the time?

How can a man or woman
Kill their child
Enough of this
Their life's defiled?

Pray I ask
Why all this horror
Can we not live and love
Instead tomorrow?

This is such a tragic event, but I am so glad that you wrote about it. This is a very good poem and such a horrid event!

That is so sad. I don't know how people can do that.

It is a shame that people do these things. Really makes you wonder what is in their mind.

This is so senseless-what a shame!

Great work... how I wish the subject didn't exist, though.

I was saddened by the same story Robbie. You expressed your feelings beautifully even though it is a tragic situation.

Robbie - This is both heartbreaking and thought-provoking. I hope your well-expressed words will be part of the solution, but opening eyes.

Interestingly, I compare this man to Britney Spears in some odd way. Both tortured souls who can't see beyond their own beliefs and delusions. Thanks for sharing this.
