In the house, cat litter can be used to dry flowers and to remove odors. Drying flowers is not something that every home owner does daily, in fact, some people never dry flowers, but what if you wanted to. Luckily it is not very difficult with a little cat litter and time. Place the cat litter in an air tight container that is large enough for the flowers that you are wanting to preserve. Cover the bottom of the container with the cat litter then place the flowers on top of the cat litter and place the lid on the container. Leave the flowers on the cat litter inside the air tight container for anywhere from 7 to 10 days. Other uses inside the house where cat litter can be used include inside the garbage can to reduce the odors of the trash. Musty odors found in closed up houses can be eliminated by sprinkling cat litter on the floors and even suitcases trunks can be deodorized with cat litter. Of course the cat litter will need to be vacuumed up after it has been allowed to sit for awhile.
Cat litter can also be used outside the home to clean up spills. Sprinkle the cat litter on the spill, give it time to soak up the spill, then simply sweep it all up and dispose of properly. This works great on oil and other spills that may occur in the garage or carport. Spills or leaks seem to happen when ever a car or truck or other motorized vehicle is left in a garage or on a carport. Having cat litter on hand is a cheap and easy solution to cleaning up the situation.
In an emergency situation, cat litter can be used to fill sand bags with, making them readily available whenever they are needed.
There are other uses for cat litter besides these listed here. With a little imagination, this list can grow and become helpful. What uses do you have or have had in the past for cat litter? Feel free to use these and add to the list.
